Exciting opportunity for a Product Development Engineer to join a growing, industry-leading manufacturer where you'll work on custom-engineered solutions, receive specialist training, and have the chance to progress into a senior engineering role.
This is a great role for someone with strong design and product development experience who is looking to expand their expertise in materials such as vinyl, foam, and wood, and work on custom-built products for a North American market.
Our client is a well-established manufacturer of industrial equipment and components used across North America. With over 400 employees and an international presence, they are entering a phase of strategic growth and are expanding their engineering team.
In this technically diverse position, you will design, develop, and improve seal and shelter products from concept through to production. You'll use tools like SolidWorks and ERP systems to generate drawings, 3D models, and BOMs, while working closely with cross-functional teams across engineering, sales, procurement, and manufacturing. You'll also have the opportunity to travel to the US for product training during your onboarding.
The ideal candidate will have experience in mechanical design and product development, be familiar with materials such as vinyl, foam, or wood, and have a solid understanding of manufacturing processes. Experience in SolidWorks, BOM creation, and ERP/MRP systems is preferred, though training can be provided.
The Role:
- Design and develop custom seal and shelter solutions
- Generate 3D models, drawings, BOMs, and specifications using SolidWorks
- Collaborate with production, procurement, quality, and sales departments
- Contribute to product improvements, manufacturing processes, and prototyping
- Travel to the US 2-3 times in the first few months for training
- $80,000 - $90,000 + Specialist Training + Progression + Full Benefits
The Person:
- Background in mechanical/product engineering or design
- Experience working with vinyl, foam, or wood (non-negotiable)
- Understanding of manufacturing processes
- SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD experience preferred
- Looking for long-term development and career progression
