Operations Manager
Commercial Heat

£45,000 - £55,000 per annum + benefits (office-based, 40 hours per week)

Our client is a well-established engineering company based near Tiverton, delivering large-scale heating and renewable energy systems across the UK. They're known for quality, technical excellence and delivering complex projects to high standards. With continued growth, they're now looking for an experienced Operations Manager to drive efficiency, oversee delivery, and lead technical teams.
In this role, you'll manage projects from design through to commissioning, ensuring technical and commercial success. You'll oversee engineers and operations staff, manage client relationships, and continuously improve processes to ensure safe, on-time, and on-budget delivery.
You'll be a technically minded leader with a strong background in engineering design and practical experience in commissioning and operations. You'll thrive in a hands-on management role and enjoy bringing structure, quality, and focus to a busy, growing environment.
The Person:
- Experienced in commercial-scale heating system design and operation.
- Background in engineering design, commissioning, or project delivery.
- Strong leadership and organisational skills.
- Excellent communicator with clients, teams, and suppliers.
- Practical, detail-focused, and confident making decisions.
The Role:
- Oversee operational delivery of heating and renewable projects.
- Manage teams, budgets, schedules, and project performance.
- Lead commissioning and handover activities.
- Improve processes, quality, and efficiency across operations.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
