Job description
Graduate Calibration Engineer
Bracknell | Permanent | Full-Time
£25,000 - £30,000 + Full Training + Benefits + Progression
Looking to launch your engineering career with a company that's a leader in its field?
If you have a technical mindset and are looking to take your first or second step into a hands-on engineering role, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a nationally recognised business and receive full training in calibration and laboratory procedures.
About the Company
This company is one of the UK's leading providers of building performance testing and specialist engineering services. They work on cutting-edge projects across construction and manufacturing, with a strong emphasis on precision, standards, and quality. Due to continued growth, they are now looking to expand their Bracknell-based team with entry-level engineers keen to learn and develop.
The Role
As a Trainee Calibration Engineer, you'll work in a state-of-the-art laboratory alongside experienced engineers, learning how to test and calibrate technical equipment used across the building services industry.
You'll receive full on-the-job training in calibration techniques, equipment handling, and UKAS standards. Over time, you'll become skilled in measuring and testing key parameters like:
- Temperature, pressure, humidity, and air velocity
- Heat transfer and flow rates across various components (e.g., radiators, valves, pumps)
- Calibration of fans, weather louvres, heat exchangers, and refrigeration systems
You'll also help document and report on results, ensure equipment is functioning correctly, and contribute to maintaining the lab's high standards of accuracy and compliance.
Who We're Looking For
You do not need previous calibration experience. We're looking for someone who is:
- Technically minded and keen to learn
- Has hands-on experience from education, hobbies, or a previous technical/lab-based role
- Holds a qualification in Engineering, Physics, or a related STEM subject (e.g., BTEC, HNC, Degree)
- Comfortable working with data, tools, and precision equipment
- Detail-oriented and reliable
- A good communicator and team player
Any experience in a lab, testing, calibration, or quality control environment is a plus-but not essential.
