$100,000 - $130,000 + Bonus + Healthcare + 401K + PTO + Benefits

An excellent opportunity for an Automation Systems Engineer to join a leading international manufacturing organization that can offer you a varied and technically interesting position, working across a range of automation and software systems within a highly automated production environment.

This organization is a global leader in its field and continues to expand its operations across the US. With a strong focus on innovation and process improvement, they invest heavily in both their people and technology. Due to continued growth, they are now looking to add an Automation Systems Engineer to their team in Laurinburg, NC.

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving the automation and software systems that control production lines. You will work closely with PLCs, host control software, and SQL databases - ensuring smooth communication between machines, systems, and operators.

This position would suit an automation or controls engineer with experience in PLC programming, Visual Basic / .NET, and SQL databases, who is looking for a technically challenging role within a leading manufacturing organization.

The Role:

  • Develop or update Visual Basic / .NET applications for operator interfaces and line control
  • Manage and query SQL databases storing production data
  • Integrate PLCs, servers, and external systems (MES, SCADA, FIS)
  • Implement software fixes and improvements across multiple sites

The Person:

  • Automation, Software or Controls Engineer
  • Skilled in Visual Basic / VB.NET / basic C programming
  • Knowledge of SQL or PostgreSQL database management
  • Experience with PLC programming and communication (Rockwell Studio 5000 preferred)
