Do you have a strong mechanical/electrical background combined with leadership and Lean Management experience?

I am currently representing a globally operating packaging manufacturer with a history dating back to 1877. Their Hamburg site manufactures large and small steel drums used primarily for the oil and chemical industries, supplying products across a global network.

In this role, you will lead the maintenance function across the manufacturing site, working closely with technicians to minimise downtime and improve the reliability of the production line. As the site operates with a single production line, effective maintenance planning and rapid response to issues are critical to maintaining productivity.

The successful candidate will have a mechanical or electrical background, previous leadership experience within a fast-paced industrial environment, and strong knowledge of Lean Management and 5S. C1-level German and strong English are essential. Experience with CMMS and ERP systems is desirable.

You will be joining a stable global business with opportunities to contribute to modernisation and continuous improvement while remaining hands-on within the maintenance function.

The Role:

• Lead and guide a team of maintenance technicians
• Plan and implement preventative maintenance
• Manage maintenance through CMMS systems
• Implement and improve Lean Management and 5S structures
• Set maintenance standards and continuously improve procedures
• Assist hands-on with mechanical and electrical maintenance
• Document repairs and manage maintenance cost reporting
• Support modernisation projects and reduce production downtime

The Candidate:

• Mechanical or Electrical maintenance experience
• Previous leadership/team management experience
• Lean Management / 5S experience
• Experience within a fast-paced industrial/manufacturing environment
• C1-level German and strong English
• CMMS and ERP experience desirable
• Comfortable working between the shopfloor and office
